As Operations Manager, Cat oversees all aspects of homeowner’s associations for our developments and supports the land acquisition team in entitlements to ensure our projects are on track for timely starts.
She began her career in the building inspection industry, developing software and training inspectors for Florida’s My Safe Florida Home reinspection quality control program. After training more than 300 inspectors on the software and specific inspection techniques for this new program, she taught several thousand insurance underwriters to understand the reports inspectors provided.
Her efforts yielded more accurate reporting and, more importantly, to the state of Florida and insurance carriers, more accurate homeowners insurance discounts were provided for its citizens. She then moved into the homeowners association world, working for a boutique association management firm, developing systems and procedures to improve community efficiency, reporting, and sentiment. When she and her husband moved back to the Gulf Coast to be closer to family, she moved from the management firm side to the developer side of association management, where she developed systems and processes for a national developer.
Cat graduated with Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida in 2004, double majoring in Psychology and Journalism. Following graduation, she moved to Paris, France, to work on documentary films with an Academy-award-winning director and studied French language and civilization at La Sorbonne. Upon moving back, she returned to the University of Florida to pursue her Master’s in Art Education.
Cat lives in Daphne with her husband, Adam, and their two children, Garrett and Emerson. She loves to travel with her family—some of their favorite travel memories so far have been eating an oyster larger than a dinner plate at Palkin in St. Petersburg, Russia, seeing a geyser in Iceland, making string cheese with a family on a farm in the Republic of Georgia, and hiking in Slovenia. Cat also enjoys sporting events, live music, and reading.
